How to Play
- One player creates a game and shares the 4-letter room code.
- Other players join using that code on their own devices.
- Each round, one player picks an obscure word from three options.
- Everyone else writes a fake definition that sounds plausible.
- The word picker reads all definitions aloud — including the real one.
- Players vote for which definition they think is real.
- Score points for guessing correctly or fooling others into picking your fake.
- Vote for the funniest fake at the end of each round for bonus points.
Play with Bots
No friends nearby? Tap Play with Bots from the main menu to play solo against 1–4 AI opponents. The bots write definitions stolen from other words and vote at random — perfect for practicing your bluffing.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How many players do I need?
- Multiplayer games need at least 3 players. Solo mode with bots needs just you (plus 1–4 AI opponents).
- Do all players need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
- No. Horsefeathers is fully online — players can join from anywhere with the room code.
- What happens if someone loses connection?
- Disconnected players are skipped automatically so the game keeps moving. They can rejoin with the same room code if they come back.
- How do I rejoin a game if my app crashed?
- Open the app, enter the same name you used, and tap Join Game with the original room code. Your score and progress are restored.
- What are the Victorian Word Pack and other word packs?
- Optional purchases that add extra obscure words to the rotation. You can browse them from the Word Packs button on the main menu.
- Can I kick a player from the game?
- Yes — the host can tap the menu (⋮) in the top right and choose View Scoreboard to kick players.
- How is scoring calculated?
- +1 point for each player your fake definition fools. +1 point for spotting the real definition. The word picker gets a bonus equal to (number of players − 1) if nobody guesses correctly. Funny votes earn +0.5 points each.
